"'Where The Light Comes From'" is a product of many moving parts — my love of Elliot Smith and Sufjan Stevens, a number of experiences and difficult choices on my mind through the 2019 holiday season, imagery, emotions, and references from a trip through Europe, and a newfound last resort mental tenacity and reluctant hopefulness. I wanted to strip the music down to its purest essentials and complement it as tastefully and minimally as possible, while also achieving a lush and warm feeling throughout (a process as counter-intuitive as it sounds)."
